Rescue Me ID: 16-06-27-00734Lil Bit (female)

Black and Tan Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lil Bit is a 40lbs hound mix of some sort. She loves cuddles and walks, and will do lots of tricks for a treat. She's good at going on runs, but is also more than content to lay around the house. As long as she can be around the humans she's happy! All of her vaccines as well as her wellness exam and heartworm test were given in May. She's been on monthly trifexis for several years. She recently had a kidney stone, but that has been treated and her x-rays/ultra sounds have all come back clear. However, I spent the last of my savings treating her, as I lost my housing situation last november and have been struggling to get back on my feet. We ... (Read More)are couch surfing and living in a tent currently, and with the weather and my non-existent funds I feel unfit to take care of her. It is breaking my heart to part ways with my accidental best friend of the last three years, but if I know she'll be in a good home that will love her and take care of her I will be happy for her. She loves cats and humans of any age/gender. She's skittish about other dogs though, so she'd do better as an only dog - however she can be slowly introduced to the right dog (we stay at a place with one other dog a lot right now). She has sit, stay, speak, hush, high five, and lay down commands. She's incredibly smart, and picks up on routines quickly. I have a crate for her (we don't use it, but if you want it for acquainting her with a new house I've got it in storage) and food and water bowls. The adoption fee is only to make sure she doesn't go to the wrong home, and I will put it towards more trifexis or treats to send her off with. She has so much love to give and I know she'll make someone else as happy as she has made me. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-11-00354Romeo (male)

Black and Tan Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

These precious 7-8 week old babies are available for adoption. We like to wait until 8-10 weeks normally, but we are accepting applications since we never know how long unti their forever family finds them. We aren't sure of their mix, Lab/Hound, possibly. We do know one thing for sure, there is a whole lot of cuteness!!! These little ones were saved from being feral and unaltered. We can't stop all the madness in this world, but we will do our part to make sure none of our rescues contribute to the over population in this world. It is definitely puppy and kitten season and it seems we have a lot of these little ones. They have had been ... (Read More)vetted, given their first vaccines, treated for fleas and given worm medicine. They possibly will be on the larger medium to larger breed size. We are told the mom weighed about 80 lbs and that is not her healthy weight, so they definitely won't be on the small size, but that will be good...a whole lot more doggie to love. Adoption fee is $180.00 and inlcudes a neuter voucher to our vet for surgery when he is 4-6 months old. An application can be downloaded in MSWord format or cut and pasted into an email from our website: carolinahelpingpawsrescue.org and emailed to us: carolinahelpingpawsrescue@gmail.com (Less)
