Date into Rescue: 6/8/2017 Reason for being in rescue: found running at large in a small SC town, he was tracked to a home where we were told he had been born to a feral mother and the home owners had fed the pups and found places for all but this one Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? none noted Weight: Growing daily - best guess is well over 50 when full grown Height: Growing daily - best guess is about 24' at the shoulder when full grown Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes Dudley is going to be a big guy with lots of exercise needs What kind of home would be best for me? This is a pupy with a passion for people. For a dog born to a feral mother he is happy, affectionate and oh so gregarious . He's got a great intelligence about him and needs someone who understands the needs of a growing young man and can shape his intelligence and inquisitiveness and loving personality into a loving adult. He'd love kids. Home schoolers? What is my personality like? Wide open, happy, friendly and eager to please. Dudley is an all around happy kind of guy. How do I act when I first meet new people? Dudley knows no new people. All people are cool as can be. More tips and tidbits: Dudley is so squishable and hugable you won't want to put him down. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Est birth date 4/9/2017 PUPPY POLICY: ~~Thank you for considering adding a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. You need to be prepared for that work. Because our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious where we put puppies. Our ideal puppy adopters are: *experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets *be scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day *and for those gone 4 hours per day have another canine companion in the home *be stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) If you fit this criteria, please apply for this puppy. If you do not fit this criteria, we strongly encourage you to look at our adoptable adult dogs. The number one misconception that we hear routinely from new dog owners is that they want a puppy because they do not think they can handle correcting past bad behaviors or resolving baggage. Not every adoptable rescue dog carries such baggage. Many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who have lost their families through no fault of their own. The second misconception we hear is that adult dogs can not bond with a new family. This again is not a true statement. Adult dogs are ready and eager to give you their love. In return, you get a family pet that is a known quantity, known size and shape and color and ready to start on the new adventure, their life with you. Lastly, training a puppy correctly is a tremendous commitment of time and energy. This is why we ask the puppy seeker have more time at home than the average working family. Puppies are gregarious and social creatures who crave attention and positive direction. You need the extra time to do it right.~~ Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. (Less)

If you love hounds, you'll love CHESTER. This 1-year-old black and tan coonhound mix loves to run and sniff around the exercise areas here at Save the Strays. But, like most hounds, he's quite happy lounging indoors, as well. Also like most hounds, he's food-driven. Show him a treat and he'll try his best to do what you want, once he understands what that is. He learned to sit in 5 minutes using treats. That's also how we trained him to kennel up in his crate when he comes inside. He's pretty smart, so if you get a bag of treats and devote an afternoon, you can probably teach him most of the basic commands. Chester is large (58 lbs.) and fairly active, so he needs room to run. A fenced yard would be best, but he can be taught better leash manners if you want to walk him. Because of his size and energy level, we think he would be best with adults only or a family with older, bigger children so he doesn't knock them down when he's playing. He's also best as an only dog or with other large females. Apply for Chester online at www.savethestrays.org or email firstname.lastname@example.org for our application. Adoption fee $225. (Less)

Hi there! My name is Daphne B&T Coon. I am grateful to ZenRescue for helping me, and I am attached to my friends here, but I just want to be in the home with my forever human or family. I make a great best friend! I will listen and keep all of your deepest secrets, I will be at your side when you feel low. I enjoy daily walks, and car rides- I'm an excellent rider! I walk gently on a lead and keep a good steady pace for exercise walking, but will be a running partner too if you would like. I enjoy both very much! Let's get some fresh air and exercise together! I am very social and friendly, I enjoy all types of outings and road trips. I like other dogs alright, I need time to get to know another dog before I warm up. I don't care much about playing with other dogs.. I would rather do things with my human companions. I get very frightened during thunderstorms, or fireworks and gun shot, loud sounds like that make me get stressed and I just want to hide in a closet or under a table or something like that, cuddling next to you would suit me just fine and will make me feel safe & secure. Can you comfort me when life gets scary? I am a well trained, obedient and respectful girl. I like to know you are happy with me and I am very cuddly, affectionate, and sensitive... You might also call me intuitive. I am seeking a life in the home, not a yard dog... I can jump a 6ft fence, and will jump in a heartbeat if I get frightened and will then try to find my human,so being left out in a fenced yard would not be a good fit for me. I crave your company, I don't want to be away from my humans. I hope to meet my lifelong companion soon! Could it be you? I am about 2 yrs old now... I still have many healthy, vigorous years ahead of me... I am a hunter by nature and will want to chase small game and cats, but I don't really want to be a hunting dog, I desire a pampered home life with walks and trips! I would be a great condo dog, since a fenced yard is not really a good fit for me. Dog parks are filled with too many strangers and I am more of a cautious girl, so not really a dog park fan. We can play ball or frisbee, I like to leap and chase. Let's enjoy good times together! Set up a meet and greet with Zen. I look forward to meeting you soon! XO, Daphne (Less)
