Misty was surrendered after being hit by a car. Her left hind leg has severe injuries but there are no broken bones. Her previous owner did not want to keep her because of her recovery period and potential inablitity to hunt. Regarding her back leg, although there is significant damage to the tissue it will heal but she may need surgery on her hock (ankle) down the road. She is currently being treated with antibiotics and frequent bandage changes. Misty is a very sweet and loving dog in need of a permanent home. Black and Tan Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The Black and Tan Coonhound is a brave hunting dog with a keen sense of smell. Coonhounds are friendly, sociable, laid-back family companions. Coonhounds generally do fine with older children. A Black and Tan Coonhound needs a large fenced yard in which to run. This breed likes to follow scents and needs to be kept on a leash when taken out.
